Wonder Women:Great Women of the Bible.  Our focus will be the great women in the Bible who have changed their worlds by their faith and trust in God.

Nov. 24 Mary (mother of Jesus pt. 1)
Dec. 1 Mary (mother of Jesus pt. 2)

Mary's life would be forever changed, the angel informed her of God's will .  God would send the Savior of the world through this poor village girl.  She was overwhelmed needless to say yet she willingly submitted  to the purpose of God for her life.  We can learn a lot of important principles from Mary about the will of God for our lives.  Join us this Sunday as we explore what God might be teaching us through Mary the mother of Jesus.
This Sunday Night at 6 pm Jeff will be talking about the 5 Keys To Giving Thanks found in Psalm 100. Hope you will plan to join us!

1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. 2 Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. 3 Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100:1-5 (NIV)
Every year several congregations join together in the FPA Thanksgiving service to jointly thank God for His blessings and grace. Join us for an evening of praise and preaching.
Our speaker this year is Howard Merrell pastor of the Covington Bible Church. Howard has served his church for 40 years. He is the founder of TeenWeek, an annual outreach to 100’s of teens in our area. He serves on several mission boards and has seen many young men from his church go into Christian ministry.
An evening of music is planned that will lead you into the place of praise and thanksgiving this Tuesday at 7 PM, Worship Center, Faith Baptist Church, 311 Jackson Drive, Covington VA ( Please note this will take the place of our normal Wednesday service at Faith)

The offering from the service will go to the Weekday Religious Education and to World Help to aid the folks in the Philippines after their terrible natural disaster.

Missionary Dr. Mark Sims will be our guest at the FPA Thanksgiving service, he will share with us what God is doing in Central Africa and France

This was our main point in the Victory Bible Class this past Wednesday night.  The Victory Bible Class meets each Wednesday night at 7 PM.  We averaged61 in November, which I believe is a record for our class.  We support several mission's projects in our class, we voted this week to send a box of food each month to refugee families from Syria in Jordan.  We will be working with Jody and Ruth Miller, missionaries in the area.  Why not plan to join us on Wednesdays.  We would love to have you as a part of our class.
We love our volunteers! Annette King is helping out at the church office this week while Staria is on vacation
On December 1 Jeff Riley will have been with Faith for one year.  It has been great having him as a part of our staff here at Faith.  We appreciate his love for the Lord and God's people.  You can tell he loves his family and really cares about what he is doing.  Thanks Jeff for all you have done here at Faith.   I guess I was wrong we can even love a Georgia fan. :)  Hope you have many more years of ministry here at Faith
My name is Billy Price and I have been the pastor of Faith Baptist Church for 38 years.  I graduated from Lynchburg Baptist College in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1975.  It is now known as Liberty University.  Upon graduation our little family of three moved to Covington Virginia to begin a new church.  Elaine, my wife; Robbie, my son and myself  started our grand adventure.  I was soon blessed with a daughter, Robin.  People often ask me did I know when I started I would be here 38 years later, I can honestly say no and God hasn't given me a reason leave.  I have enjoyed my ministry in the mountains of Virginia, if it is His will I hope to finish my race here, but that's up to Him.
