This Sunday we will be looking at the number one reason for not believing in God, suffering.   But not just atheists struggle with this subject.   We have heard lately about a lot of suffering in our world both nationally and locally.  What does the Bible say about this difficult subject?  Join us this Sunday as we look at a tough subject.

Jeff will be speaking Sunday night

HE OWNS IT ALL

10 For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills. 11 I know all the birds of the mountains, And the wild beasts of the field are Mine. 12 "If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the world is Mine, and all its fullness. Psalm 50:10-12 (NKJV)

1 The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi. 2 "I have loved you," says the LORD. "Yet you say, 'In what way have You loved us?' Was not Esau Jacob's brother?" Says the LORD. "Yet Jacob I have loved; 3 But Esau I have hated, And laid waste his mountains and his heritage For the jackals of the wilderness." 4 Even though Edom has said, "We have been impoverished, But we will return and build the desolate places," Thus says the LORD of hosts: "They may build, but I will throw down; They shall be called the Territory of Wickedness, And the people against whom the LORD will have indignation forever. 5 Your eyes shall see, And you shall say, 'The LORD is magnified beyond the border of Israel.' 6 "A son honors his father, And a servant his master. If then I am the Father, Where is My honor? And if I am a Master, Where is My reverence? Says the LORD of hosts To you priests who despise My name. Yet you say, 'In what way have we despised Your name?' Malachi 1:1-6 (NKJV)
Jeff will be bringing a message this Sunday morning on the above passage.   Are we giving God what is right or what is left?

Mother's Day, Jamey Smith update

9 Rise up, you women who are at ease, Hear my voice; You complacent daughters, Give ear to my speech.                                       Isaiah 32:9 (NKJV)

The prophet Isaiah is warning his country about impending disaster when he suddenly addresses the women of the country.  I think it is significant that one of the major prophets felt it important to challenge the women of the country to get involved in the important work of restoring the spiritual foundation of that country.  We will see several important truths from this passage.  Women reflect the moral and spiritual climate of a country.  Women can help shape the moral and spiritual direction of a country.  As we honor or mothers let us not forget the tremendous influence they exert on our families, churches and country.

This Sunday is Mother's Day and we want to say thank you to all the moms present with a special gift.  We also want to give to you the gift of time so you can tell your mom how much you appreciate her and love her, so the evening service is cancelled for this Sunday.

This Sunday we are receiving a special love offering for Caleb Vance who is headed to Turkey this summer for a short term mission trip.  Any funds that come in the designated love offering envelopes will go to his trip fund.
