This Sunday morning Jeff will be covering some basics in sharing our faith.  In his message "Telling People About Jesus", he will share some practical pointers on sharing the gospel with those we come in contact with and how we can overcome our hesitation in talking about our faith. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. My name is Billy Price and I have been the pastor of Faith Baptist Church for 38 years.  I graduated from Lynchburg Baptist College in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1975.  It is now known as Liberty University.  Upon graduation our little family of three moved to Covington Virginia to begin a new church.  Elaine, my wife; Robbie, my son and myself  started our grand adventure.  I was soon blessed with a daughter, Robin.  People often ask me did I know when I started I would be here 38 years later, I can honestly say no and God hasn't given me a reason leave.  I have enjoyed my ministry in the mountains of Virginia, if it is His will I hope to finish my race here, but that's up to Him.

This Sunday morning I will continue in my series "Desire".  In our final sermon we will be bringing a message entitled "Losing My Spiritual Desire".  I will be looking at one of the major Old Testament characters; Elijah.  Elijah experienced a very difficult time in his life and he lost all desire to serve God and even to live. What led Elijah to this difficult place?  How did God bring him out of it?  Join us this Sunday as we see God drawing His servant back and giving him a fresh desire to live for Him. This Sunday night at 6 PM one of our deacons Mike Wade will be bringing a message entitled, "What Satan Really Wants" hope you can join us.

Father's Day this Sunday

This Sunday morning I will continue in my series "Desire".  This Sunday isFather's Day and we will be looking at a famous father in the Bible by the name of David.  The title of our message is "David's Desire (the consequences of forgiven sin)".  David gave into a strong desire and the result was devastating for his family.  We will learn this Sunday that yes our sins are forgiven, but the consequences of those sins can linger for the rest of our lives.  Yet God's grace is great enough to give us the strength to continue on even in the storm of our consequences.  Hope you can join us this Sunday. 7 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. Galatians 6:7  This Sunday is Father's Day, hope you can join us on this special day. We will have a gift for all the dads present. There will be no Sunday night service so families can be together on this dad's day. We had a chance to visit with Analeigh in Charlottesville Monday if you remember we had special prayer for her Sunday night at church praise the Lord she got to come home on Thursday.  Thank you for all of your prayer.
