Karen and Company this Sunday

Follow us on Facebook
Christmas Roller Coaster  focuses on the highs and lows of the Christmas season.  We will be looking into scripture to help us cope with this stressful time of the year and to learn how to worship God at this special time.  We have two messages left in this series.  This week I will be looking at "JOY" the Bible has a ton to say about joy.  A lot of it is focused around the birth of Christ.  But why do so few Christians experience real joy?   Our main point is "Find God find Joy".  We all want joy but I feel we are looking in the all the wrong places.

Next Sunday Jeff will be looking at "Sadness" many people experience a real let down after Christmas.  How can we as believers avoid the holiday blahs?  Join us on Sunday December 29.

December 22  Joy (Billy)
December 29  Sadness (Jeff)

(Please note that on Sunday December 29 we will have only one morning service at 10:30, there will be no 9 AM service or Sunday School.  We will have a nursery, preschool class and children's church during the 10:30 service.  No Sunday night or Wednesday night service that week)
Hope you can join us this Sunday night at 6 PM for an evening of Christmas music.  Karen Bradberry has invited all of her friends to come and share sounds of the season with us.  The Jam Kids and many other surprises are in store for us.   Plan now to be in the Worship Center at 6 PM this Sunday for beautiful music that will stir your heart.
Our annual Christmas Eve Candlelight service has become a Christmas tradition for many families in our area.  It is one of the best attended services of the year.  The Praise Team will be singing, Karen Bradberry will share a special Christmas song and our very own Conrad will be with again this year.

My name is Billy Price and I have been the pastor of Faith Baptist Church for 38 years.  I graduated from Lynchburg Baptist College in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1975.  It is now known as Liberty University.  Upon graduation our little family of three moved to Covington Virginia to begin a new church.  Elaine, my wife; Robbie, my son and myself  started our grand adventure.  I was soon blessed with a daughter, Robin.  People often ask me did I know when I started I would be here 38 years later, I can honestly say no and God hasn't given me a reason leave.  I have enjoyed my ministry in the mountains of Virginia, if it is His will I hope to finish my race here, but that's up to Him.

Candace and Brad Speer point to the true meaning of Christmas through this unique decoration in front of their home.
There once was an old church in England. A sign on the front of the building read "We preach Christ crucified." After a time, ivy grew up and obscured the last word. The motto now read, "We preach Christ." The ivy grew some more, and the motto read, "We preach." Finally, ivy covered the entire sign, and the church died. Such is the fate of any church that fails to carry out its mission in the world.-John MacArthur
