Tanner and Levi at the Brian Center last Sunday   The Lewis family helps out at Fall into Fun, they decided to join Faith that Sunday morning

Butch and Lana Kemper give out candy during our fall outreach, "Fall into Fun"

Hundreds of people gathered last Sunday night for "Fall into Fun".  The outreach was a great success.  We had a story team presenting a story from the gospels in the childrens building, a gospel presentation was given on the hay ride which was packed all night long.  The rain held off until 7:30 our announced finish time, thank you Lord.  I would like to thank everyone who worked so hard to make this outreach so successful.  A young mother talked to me during the event and is planning on bringing her children back to Faith for a visit one Sunday, that is exactly what we were praying and hoping for, to reach out to the unchurched in our area.  Pray that we will see fruit from this event for months to come.

 Hope to see you Sunday

This Sunday  At Faith . . . (AM)

This Sunday Chris will be preaching from Hebrews 12:1-3

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress. And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish. He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy he knew would be his afterward. Now he is seated in the place of highest honor beside God's throne in heaven. Think about all he endured when sinful people did such terrible things to him, so that you don't become weary and give up. Hebrews 12:1-3 (NLT)

  Sunday night

This Sunday night the Faith Family is inviting our community to come and visit.  Fall into Fun at Faith is our annual Fall outreach to the Alleghany Highlands.  We will have candy stations to give out candy to the little ones, games for everyone, hayrides and food for the hungry.  In the past we have had several hundred people come and visit on our church campus.  Please pray for this outreach that many will come and visit and then return to hear the gospel in our regular church services.  Please plan to attend and bring your family and neighbors.  If you are still interested in helping with this event we still need more candy, help setting up and workers for the games, etc.  Contact Kathleen All this Sunday if you can help.  Plan to attend and reach out to our community.

Our church family had a real treat last Sunday, Buck and Glenna Barnetter were our special guests.  Glenna has been unable to attend church because of her battle with cancer.  But last Sunday she was able to slip in after the service started, she has to avoid crowds because of her chemo.  I took this photo at Douthat Sunday where we ate with Buck and Glenna after church.  Buck and Glenna have been greeters at our church for years, we sure miss their smiling faces on Sunday morning.  Please pray that Buck and Glenna can soon return, they are truly missed.

Someones getting ready for Fall into Fun at Faith, can you guess who?

You never know who will show up at our fall outreach!

Last year we were forced inside because of weather, pray for this year's event and help if you can!

 Hope to see you Sunday

This Sunday  At Faith . . . (AM)

This Sunday I want to ask you a question.  What kind of odor are you putting off in your life?  I don't mean to offend you, but the Bible asks the same question.  Our text is found in 2 Corinthians 2:15-16

15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things? 2 Corinthians 2:15-16 (NKJV)

  • God uses us to help people around us experience Christ
  • Christ has different impact on different people
  • It is only as Christ works through us that God is able to influence those around us
