Christmas At Faith

Follow us on Facebook
Wonder Women:Great Women of the Bible.  Our focus will be the great women in the Bible who have changed their worlds by their faith and trust in God.

Dec. 1 Mary (mother of Jesus pt. 2)

This is our final sermon in this series and we will take one more look at Mary the mother of  Jesus.  Last week we learned about the will of God from Mary, this week we will see that Mary has a lot to teach us about worship.  One of the most famous hymns in the Bible is the one Mary sang to the Lord rejoicing in Him for choosing her to be the mother of Jesus.

This Sunday Night at 6 pm Jeff has a very special Christmas Communion planned.  It will combine music, scripture reading and the communion service itself to create a great start to our Christmas season at Faith, hope you can join us this Sunday Evening at 6 PM for our Christmas Communion Service.

In spite of the horrible weather, we had a great Thanksgiving service at Faith.  The music from the various churches was great and Howard Merrell brought a great message from Psalm 107,

The Church was alive with activity last week as crews of volunteers descended on the church to decorate for the Christmas season.  A special thanks to all who worked so hard to make the church look so nice. WE love our volunteers!
Various teams visit the Brian Center each month for ministry.  Howard Nicely, Karen Bradberry, Rachel Kimberlin, Angie Kimberlin, Linda Fox and Elaine Price were at the nursing home last Sunday bringing joy to the residents as they sang about the birth of Jesus.
My name is Billy Price and I have been the pastor of Faith Baptist Church for 38 years.  I graduated from Lynchburg Baptist College in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1975.  It is now known as Liberty University.  Upon graduation our little family of three moved to Covington Virginia to begin a new church.  Elaine, my wife; Robbie, my son and myself  started our grand adventure.  I was soon blessed with a daughter, Robin.  People often ask me did I know when I started I would be here 38 years later, I can honestly say no and God hasn't given me a reason leave.  I have enjoyed my ministry in the mountains of Virginia, if it is His will I hope to finish my race here, but that's up to Him.
