Special guest Sunday night and an update on Jeff

aith Connection                                         Connecting people with God, Others and Service
18  And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; 20  always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; Ephesians 5:18-20 (NASB)

This Sunday we begin a new sermon series; "Gratitude".  Gratitude is defined as the quality of being thankful.  The Bible has much to say about this important subject.  According to the book of Ephesians when God is in control of a Christian's life the evidence will include a spirit of thankfulness. Join us this Sunday at 9 AM or 10:30 AM
This Sunday night  6 PM

Join us this Sunday night at 6 PM our special guest will be Dan Crumley with Courageous Servant Ministry reaching out to police officers, fire fighters and all first responders.  Courageous Servant Ministries exists to bear witness of the saving and strengthening Gospel of Jesus Christ to first responders throughout the southeastern United States and assimilate them into the local church.

Courageous Servant Ministries recognizes that first responders are continually exposed to the most depraved sins of mankind. This exposure, if not protected against through the power of Christ, can dramatically affect the spiritual health of the first responder and their families.

Therefore we seek to overcome this harmful state by providing a ministry of presence, compassion, support, bible study, and counsel to men and women of police, sheriff, and fire departments.

In addition to the protection from sin, Courageous Servant Ministries endeavors to restore those first responders that are injured both spiritually and emotionally as a result of sin. This restoration allows them to serve their families, and communities with greater confidence and peace.

We as a church family want to humbly thank God for His faithfulness in answering the prayers of so many of His children.  Jeff had his surgery on Tuesday and the surgeons were very pleased with how it went, he will not need any valve replacement or pace maker  and he is already in a step down unit.  They successful removed the mass and the doctor felt Jeff will make a full recovery.
My name is Billy Price and I have been the pastor of Faith Baptist Church for 41 years.  I graduated from Lynchburg Baptist College in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1975.  It is now known as Liberty University.  Upon graduation our little family of three moved to Covington Virginia to begin a new church.  Elaine, my wife; Robbie, my son and myself  started our grand adventure.  I was soon blessed with a daughter, Robin.  People often ask me did I know when I started I would be here 41 years later, I can honestly say no and God hasn't given me a reason leave.  I have enjoyed my ministry in the mountains of Virginia, if it is His will I hope to finish my race here, but that's up to Him.
