Eagle Scout Ceremony at Faith this Sunday

Wonder Women:Great Women of the Bible.  Our focus will be the great women in the Bible who have changed their worlds by their faith and trust in God.   Nov. 3 Ruth  Nov. 10 Esther  Nov. 17 Mary (sister of Martha)  Nov. 24 Mary (mother of Jesus pt. 1) Dec. 1 Mary (mother of Jesus pt. 2) This week our focus is Ruth.  Ruth was a gentile who was included in the genealogy of Christ.  She is one of two women who had Bible books named after her, she is famous for a statement she makes early in the book to her mother in-law. 16 But Ruth said: "Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God. 17 Where you die, I will die, And there will I be buried. The LORD do so to me, and more also, If anything butdeath parts you and me."                                                                                                                                     Ruth 1:16-17 (NKJV)  What makes Ruth one of the "Wonder Women" of the Bible?  Join us this Sunday to find out. This Sunday in the 10:30 service we will have an Eagle Scout Ceremony for James McHenry.  Hope you can join us as honor this young man for his great accomplishment. This Sunday night (6 PM) Jeff will bring a message entitled, "The Fellowship of His Sufferings".  His text is Phillippians 3:8-11 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.                                                                              Philippians 3:8-11 (NKJV)  We will also gather around the Lord's Table for Communion hope you can join us as honor our Lord for His death on Calvary.

Greg was our neighbor for many years and David was principal at Cliftondale Christian school in the early 80's. It was good to see both of them. Our church secretaries ( Staria Knick and Elaine Price) brought the house down at Fall Into Fun as the blow-up they were in collapsed Click on above image to go to sermon site for our church. Erin, Jeremy and Levi had fun at Fall Into Fun as they got to tour the inside of the whale from the story room in which Teresa Calvert and a team of actors offered "Jonah and the Whale" throughout the evening.  Levi saw it three times. It took a lot of manpower to pull off this event and we want to express gratitude to each person who stepped up and made it happen with the Lord's help. From the food crew to the game operators and hay ride operators, story tellers and candy station crews, face painters and clean up crew thanks! for a job well done. We want to especially thank our leadership team who comes together every year and makes this outreach a reality in our community. WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS! My name is Billy Price and I have been the pastor of Faith Baptist Church for 38 years.  I graduated from Lynchburg Baptist College in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1975.  It is now known as Liberty University.  Upon graduation our little family of three moved to Covington Virginia to begin a new church.  Elaine, my wife; Robbie, my son and myself  started our grand adventure.  I was soon blessed with a daughter, Robin.  People often ask me did I know when I started I would be here 38 years later, I can honestly say no and God hasn't given me a reason leave.  I have enjoyed my ministry in the mountains of Virginia, if it is His will I hope to finish my race here, but that's up to Him.
