This Sunday At Faith . . . (AM)
I will be taking a look at Haggai chapter two. The children of Israel had returned to Jerusalem 18 years earlier to rebuild the Temple, after a stirring challenge from Haggai, they began to rebuild the Temple. But it wasn't long until they began to compare the new temple with the original temple and discouragement set in, creating a desire to quit. This Sunday we will be looking at the subject of discouragement. There were several elements that caused the people to get discouraged.
- They began to look and live in the past
- They began to compare their work with others
- They forgot the God who had brought them back to Jerusalem
Our core principle in this message is:
DISCOURAGEMENT IS THE PRICE YOU PAY FOR FORGETTING GOD

My son in-law Matt Walls preached last Sunday on "Be Present", it was a great message and I heard a lot of feedback from our folks which is a good thing. There are so many distractions in our culture it is truly hard to be present for God, our families and others.
Here is our praise team in action last Sunday, how I thank God for our music ministry here at Faith. The choir and the praise team both add so much to our services. The choir will be presenting a patriotic musical Sunday night July 1 here at the church.
We had all of our grand kids together last week for several days, all six of them. It was great seeing them all together, we took them to Roaring Run for the first time and they really seemed to enjoy it. They saw their first snake in the wild. I thank God for this opportunity to have our family with us for a few days.
Hope to see you Sunday
