Since our childhood we have been afraid of the dark. What is lurking in that unseen blackness? We fear not only the physical darkness but spiritual darkness.  Sometimes we find ourselves in situations that overwhelm us and cast us into great darkness.  But there is hope, we know someone who sees in the dark and is with us in the darkest night.  David wrote about Him in Psalm 23: 4 Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. Psalm 23:4 (NLT)  Join us as we reflect on this great passage of scripture that can lighten our way as travel through dark valleys. This Sunday at 2 PM our church will be hosting the Baccalaureate Service for Alleghany High School.  Our teen praise team will be providing music along with the school choir and I will be speaking.  You are welcome to attend, but please pray for this service. Jane Hoadley missionary to Nigeria will be our special guest in the Sunday Evening service at 6 PM in our Worship Center.

My name is Billy Price and I have been the pastor of Faith Baptist Church for 38 years.  I graduated from Lynchburg Baptist College in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1975.  It is now known as Liberty University.  Upon graduation our little family of three moved to Covington Virginia to begin a new church.  Elaine, my wife; Robbie, my son and myself  started our grand adventure.  I was soon blessed with a daughter, Robin.  People often ask me did I know when I started I would be here 38 years later, I can honestly say no and God hasn't given me a reason leave.  I have enjoyed my ministry in the mountains of Virginia, if it is His will I hope to finish my race here, but that's up to Him.

Mother's Day this Sunday

Follow us on Facebook  A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, "Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves." So Elisha said to her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?" And she said, "Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil." Then he said, "Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors--empty vessels; do not gather just a few. And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones." So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, "Bring me another vessel." And he said to her, "There is not another vessel." So the oil ceased. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest." 2 Kings 4:1-7 (NKJV)  This is a wonderful story from the Old Testament.  This Sunday I want to look at the power of faith in this single mom's life.  She didn't have many resources but she had a big God.  You may be facing similar challenges in you life, let me encourage you to join us this Sunday to discover how God can make all the difference in your life.  Remember, little is much when God is in it. Communion This Sunday Night

We all want it, yet we struggle to get it, We try and try yet we only seem to fail. What is it?  Life change, we all have things in our lives we wish we could change but we continue on in the same path, business as usual.  This Sunday morning I will be looking at “Transformation”.  The Bible is full of stories of people who experienced true transformation. I will be looking at one particular story found in Acts 8.  There was a man from Ethiopia whose live was transformed by the truth.   I hope to uncover some principles about transformation that will aid you in your quest for transformation.  My main point for the message is: Transformation Requires Information It is not enough to desire to change; we must have the truth that will enable us to change.  I believe the Ethiopian truly wanted to change and God sent the information through Phillip.  Once the Ethiopian received the truth and yielded to God in obedience to that truth he experienced transformation and so can you.  Join us this Sunday as we seek to give you the information you need for transformation. 27 So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, Acts 8:27 (NKJV) Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing.Acts 8:39 (NKJV)  This Sunday night Jeff will lead us to the Lord's Table.  He will be speaking onWhat is Communion?  His text is from 1 Corinthians 11:23-30.
