Elaine Price and Staria Knick made a trip last week to Tennessee to visit our missionaries David and Evelyn Dye.  They are now ministering to elderly women who need a place to live in a Christian environment.  Please pray for this couple as they strive to show the love of Christ to these women in need.

Jonathan Windle who grew up in our church is getting married!  He finally popped the question.  Jonathan is a youth pastor in the Hinton West Virginia area.  Pray for  Charissa and Jonathan as they take this big step in their lives.

This was the scene last Easter, God has given us a great opportunity to reach out to our community.  Many unchurched folks are more comfortable visiting a neutral site.  If you have been praying about inviting someone to Faith this is the perfect opportunity.  Pick up an invite card at the Welcome Center and ask them to come with you Easter Sunday.

god of me

This Sunday I finish our "gods at war" sermon series.  This week in our final message we will be looking at a message that ties the whole series together.  The "god of me" sermon helps us to understand all of the gods we have discussed in this series in reality point to a central truth: we all want to be god.  When Adam and Eve were tempted with the lie that could become like God in disobeying God.  The truth is we all want to be in control, we don't want others telling us what to do, even God.  We set up other gods in our lives, gods that we create and control.

What is the main purpose of your life?

Is it to find happiness at any cost?  Then you are worshiping the god of me

Is it to glorify God? Then you are worshiping the true and living God
This Sunday night (6 PM) Jeff will be speaking, his message; Why are you standing around?

“For the Kingdom of Heaven is like the landowner who went out early one morning to hire workers for his vineyard. He agreed to pay the normal daily wage and sent them out to work. “At nine o’clock in the morning he was passing through the marketplace and saw some people standing around doing nothing. So he hired them, telling them he would pay them whatever was right at the end of the day. So they went to work in the vineyard. At noon and again at three o’clock he did the same thing. “At five o’clock that afternoon he was in town again and saw some more people standing around. He asked them, ‘Why haven’t you been working today?’ “They replied, ‘Because no one hired us.’ “The landowner told them, ‘Then go out and join the others in my vineyard.’                                                                                                Matthew 20:1-7 (NLT)

This Sunday Jeff continues our "gods at war" sermon series.
This week Jeff will be sharing with us the "battle for your heart", we saw last week how these gods can slip into our lives and begin to compete with the true and living God.  Where does this battle take place?  In your heart, not the fleshly organ that pumps blood, but the center of who you are, the place where your emotional, life and spiritual decisions are made.  The war is won or lost in the heart of the believer.  Come this Sunday and learn how you can guard your heart.

23 Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.Proverbs 4:23 (NLT)
This Sunday night (6 PM) I will be speaking on "Christ is Supreme".  This is actually a survey message on the entire Bible with the goal of seeing that Christ is the centerpiece of the entire Bible.

18 Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everythingColossians 1:18 (NLT)
